Here are photos from my first trip to South Africa.

I went there in April 2008 to get to know everyone in the Cape Town office of Vinny's latest company, SynthaSite.  As you can see, in addition to an incredibly productive, 5-day strategy & planning session and 2 weeks of product creation, we had some great outings.

Best Photos

These are the best photos, artistically, from the three weeks in the Western Cape.

Good Group Photos

Here are several nice group photos from our various activities.

Chez Lingham

We stayed at Vinny & Charlene's place in the Parklands area of Cape Town.  It has a stunning view of Table Mountain.  Jack & Sandy were so excited whenever we came back.

"Sweet Talkin' Sugar-Coated Candy Man"

Our morning ride to work included blasting the radio in the top-down M3.  We had Vinny on Steering Wheel, Charlene on Vocals, and the Dooo Whop boys in the back.  Our favorite was "Candy Man", set to the tune of "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B".

YouTube video of Christina Aquilera's hit song here.

SynthaSite Cape Town Office

Here's a look at the people in SynthaSite's Cape Town location:  4 Gordon Street, Gardens.

Couples

These are cute pix of the couples in our crowd.

Brothers & Sisters

The Brothers Lingham and the Sisters nee Troskie.

Sailing on the "Maharani"

We took the whole crew on an afternoon sail, aboard the Rupert Family's 66-foot, solid mahogany yacht, the "Maharani".  Charlene steered, Lisa kept bow lookout, the Americans went aloft, and Neil got drenched.

Tour of Backsberg Vineyard

We were given a private tour of this vineyard from the 4th-generation owner, including a lamb spit braai and wine pairings.

Paintball in the Tokai forest

Action-packed team-building with semi-auto "markers" shooting paintballs at 300 fps. Daniel made good on his claims of sniping prowess.  Lots of fun, great exercise, and some interesting bruises.
